Why Protein Matters for Recovery, Muscle Preservation, and Healing

Someone weighing 80 kg, for example, might consume roughly 130–175 grams per day, depending on their training, calorie intake, and goals.

People dieting aggressively or recovering from significant physical stress may benefit from being toward the higher end of an appropriate range, but individual needs vary.

Recovery Is More Than Protein

Protein is important, but it works as part of a larger recovery strategy.

Your body also needs:

• Enough total calories

• Carbohydrates to support training and replenish glycogen

• Healthy dietary fats

• Vitamins and minerals

• Hydration

• Sleep

• Proper rest and rehabilitation
